Graffiti Wall of Fame

The Graffiti Wall of Fame is an open-air street art site on Niederbarnimstrasse in Berlin's Friedrichshain district, covering the side wall of the Intimes cinema, an independent arthouse venue. The wall is a legal painting surface, so works are applied with permission rather than as unauthorised graffiti, and the surface is repainted repeatedly as new pieces replace old ones. Styles range from large character pieces to text-based work and murals addressing gentrification and social change, reflecting the district's history as an alternative quarter since reunification. The site is outdoors, freely accessible at any hour and free to view. Because it is repainted continually, the specific images described in older accounts will not be the ones on the wall now. The nearest U-Bahn station is Samariterstrasse on the U5 line, roughly five minutes away, with the M13 tram stopping nearby; the RAW-Gelande complex and the bars of Boxhagener Platz are within walking distance.
