The tourist-free pub

Rote Rose

Why locals love it

You may hardly believe it, but once upon a time, Kreuzberg was a working class district. You think there´s no proof left? Think again! Trashy, kitschy, cheap as hell and open 24 hours, Rote Rose attracts a public as it was common 30 years ago. Punks, gays, turkish taxi drivers - everyone looking to get plastered (and not much more) stops by here.

Why you should visit it

Want to get drunk without meeting other tourists in Kreuzberg? Here's your place! If you want authentic, it doesn't get better than this. After a few hours you know the histories of everyone in the bar and a lot of things you didn't ask for, too. It tends to be more fun here when you have already some beers under your belt. Be aware of pickpockets!

Special tip

The place hasn't been closed for decades. The Jukebox plays mostly german evergreens and is a people's favourite.
