This Jewish-style delicatessen serves up family favorites and breakfast all day. Found in the heart of Coolidge Corner, Zaftigs is a family favorite from brunch 'til dusk. Zaftig, which translates to "pleasingly plump" in German, can be seen in the form of your Jewish grandma as painted, lovingly, around the restaurant.

Why you should visit it
For one thing, the banana stuffed French toast is legendary. They also have deli and breakfast favorites from pastrami, to corned beef, to challah French toast, and so on. There are also some over the top favorites, like "The Lupo", which is hot brisket layered between two latkes (potato pancakes) with gravy and horseradish.
Special tip
The staff wear hilarious shirts, parodying "got milk?" with Yiddish phrases, so don't forget to read your waiter's shirt.
