Rope Street (Strada Sforii)

Currently closed. Strada Sforii has been sealed at both ends since 18 November 2025, after wind brought down plaster. The city signed a repair design contract in February 2026 but the street remained shut as of August 2026. Check locally before making a special trip.

One of the narrowest streets in Europe, barely more than a metre wide, threading between two rows of old-town houses near Council Square. Originally built as an access corridor for firefighters, it is now a quirky photo stop, its walls covered in messages and small artworks. A short, fun detour while browsing the surrounding lanes of craft and souvenir shops.
