This tastefully decorated café located in the old town attracts with its unique Neo-Romanian interior, surprisingly complemented by the addition of postmodern colorful paintings. Its no-reservations policy is something quite unusual for Bucharest’s fashionable cafés, but it certainly catches on very well, particularly with foreign visitors.
The café terrace hosts artistic performances and unconventional shows, such as street pantomime on summer weekend evenings. Non-smokers have a dedicated intimate space in the former wine cellar, newly refurbished.
While most central cafés open late in the afternoon, Van Gogh is a great place for breakfast and brunch, with tasty assorted choices.
