Mammut

Széll Kálmán tér (District II)

Mammut is a twin shopping and entertainment complex on the Buda side of Budapest at Szell Kalman ter, the square formerly known as Moszkva ter. Mammut I opened in 1998, the city's third shopping centre of its kind; Mammut II followed in 2001 as a larger extension, and the two buildings are joined by a glass-covered bridge over Lovohaz utca. Together they cover roughly 61,300 square metres and hold around 220 shops with some 22 restaurants and cafes across several levels lit by glazed roofs. Tenants include international and Hungarian clothing chains, a supermarket, a pharmacy and a multiplex cinema. An underground car park serves both buildings. Shop hours run Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 21:00 and Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00, with restaurants generally trading to 22:00. Entry is free. Szell Kalman ter is served directly by metro line M2 along with several tram and bus routes, which makes it among the most accessible centres in the city.
