Sequoia

Spread across terraces at the northern tip of Zamalek where the Nile splits around the island, Sequoia is the great open-air lounge of Cairo, filling each evening with crowds smoking shisha, sipping cocktails and watching the boats drift by. There is a big menu of Levantine and Egyptian food too. It is best after dark. Book a riverside table, come for sunset, and settle in for a long, breezy evening by the water.
