Company’s Garden

Company’s Garden

Laid out in 1652 as a vegetable garden for passing ships, it is now a free public park running up the spine of the city.

Stroll the oak-lined Government Avenue, find the rose garden and aviary, and use the park to link the National Gallery with Parliament.

Local tip: The resident squirrels will come right up to you; the garden's own cafe has shaded seating if you want a pause mid-walk.
