The Cathedral of Sant Agata dominates Piazza del Duomo, rebuilt in the Sicilian Baroque style after the 1693 earthquake and dedicated to the citys patron saint. Its marble facade, domes and the tomb of composer Vincenzo Bellini draw visitors, while the vast February festival of Sant Agata centres on the church. Admission to parts of the cathedral and its treasures is ticketed, at the heart of Catanias UNESCO-listed old town.
