In the mountainous hinterland of Chania, Stelios Trilirakis, the chef-patron of Dounias, grows his own organic food and cooks it in wood ovens, wood stoves and roasters. Stelios serves either vegetarian or non-vegetarian dishes, slow cooked and literally melting on your tongue.

The food is simple but deliciously full of flavour and the service is very warm and welcoming. Even if you are a meat -eater try the vegetarian dishes and you will not miss the meat one bit. Expect to have a different dining experience.
Be hungry, don't hurry, trust the cook, enjoy the natural environment.
