Why locals love it
It's one of the main methods of transportation to and around downtown. Several of the CTA system's main lines run through The Loop: brown, purple, orange, and pink. There are possibilities abound for exploration at virtually every stop along The Loop. Warning: may encounter crazies.

Why you should visit it
It's a cheap way to see the gorgeous architectural canyons of Chicago's downtown. The 'L' is elevated above the street and wraps in a loop around the commercial core of Chicago, going between the historical skyscrapers of its skyline. Take The Loop all the way through and enjoy the views as you zip between buildings and over rivers.
Special tip
Start from the northside on the brown line. The view of the skyline as you go over the Chicago River from Merchanise Mart is sublime.
