Tom am Platz

Tom am Platz

Sulz  •  ★ 4.6

Why it matters: Tom am Platz is an Inklusionsunternehmen (inclusion enterprise) opened in 2024 by Lebenshilfe Koln, created to give people with disabilities real, paid jobs on the open labour market – here they work side by side in the kitchen, at the counter and in service. It is the second ‘Tom’ cafe from the same nonprofit, following the long-running ‘Wo ist Tom?’ nearby in Sulz. The barrier-free dining room and quiet outdoor terrace on a leafy square make it an easy neighbourhood stop; the kitchen turns out fine homemade cakes and a daily lunch. Tip: go for Kaffee und Kuchen mid-afternoon, and the same team also does catering.
