Oasi WWF del Bassone

★ 4.2

The Bassone Oasis is a small WWF-protected wetland on the edge of Como, a patch of reed beds and ponds kept wild specifically to protect nesting birds and amphibians as the city grows around it. It's conservation land run largely by volunteers, and a genuinely quiet contrast to the lakefront crowds.

Local tip: Bring binoculars if you have them – it's a birdwatching spot first, and the wildlife is the whole point of the detour.
