A former marble and cement warehouse compound in Al Quoz turned into Dubai's main independent arts district, and free to walk into.
Galleries, Tashkeel's makerspace, and food and retail units including coffee roasters and design shops fill the converted units.
Local tip: Gallery hours are shorter than the compound's and many close on Sundays; Quoz Arts Fest fills the whole site each January.
