This is the place to go to enjoy the sunshine, which happens rarely enough to make all the locals suddenly head to Princes Street Gardens. But don't be put off by this fact, there is plenty of space to have your own picnic. The garden is especially beautiful in spring bloom and in rich autumn colours.

Princes Street Gardens is probably the most popular public park in the city, dividing the old and new towns of Edinburgh. It is hard to believe that 200 years ago there was a large loch at this place polluted from sewage of the old town. Today you can lie on the perfect green grass and enjoy the view of mighty Edinburgh castle.
In winter the gardens fill up with carousels and christmas stalls. Have a ride on the ferris wheel to enjoy the view and warm up with mulled cider.
