Located in the Le Murate complex well off the beaten tourist track, Le Carceri would be worth visiting for the ambience alone—it's housed in a former prison complex that has been transformed into residential units and a popular cafe and restaurant!
It may be worth it for the environment alone, but the pizza is delicious to boot. Keep it simple and order a classic margherita or try one of my personal favorites, the Rebibbia (made with tomato sauce, mozzarella, sausage and stracchino cheese). There's both indoor and outdoor seating and the latter is perfect in the summer.
