Why it matters: Sinn & Wandel is a recognised Inklusionsbetrieb (inclusion business) in the Nordend, opened by deaf restaurateur Sascha Nuhn, where deaf, hearing-impaired and people with cognitive or psychological disabilities work side by side with hearing colleagues — the room is even lit so sign language stays visible into the evening. Beyond the mission it is simply a warm, wood-lined resto-cafe serving fresh regional dishes and generous homemade cakes. Order a slice of house Torte with a coffee, and do not be shy about ordering in gestures or a written note — that is the whole point. Tip: it is closed Monday and Tuesday, so come Wednesday through Sunday.
