Service is slow on busy days, but the terrace on Place Saint-André is a nice spot in the heart of the city. They serve everything a Frenchman can desire and it's very popular among older citizens of Grenoble but also groups of young people.
It is the oldest cafe in France. Grenoble beats even Paris with this one. It's a quiet spot in the city that is mostly great after a long day of walking around to have a drink before going out for dinner. As I am Dutch i love people watching and this is a great spot.
In summer when they have the open air film festival in Grenoble international films are played for a week on a big screen on the square of the cafe.
