Just accross the cityborder, between Benoordenhout district and neighboring town Wassenaar, you will find Landgoed Clingendael. An estate with the magnitude of times bygone. The most enchanting parts of the estate are nowadays the Japanese garden and Sterrenbos, a grand maze of rhododendron. The estate is exceptionally beautifull in spring.
Forget the modern city, walk trough the Clingendael gate and dive into the ambiance of neoclassical times.
The Japanese garden is very fragile and is only 8 weeks a year opened for the general public. Please check the website for opening periods/ -hours.
