Why locals love it
The Tsarmitunturi Wilderness Area is a relatively small, but scenically exceptional, wilderness wilderness in the Inari municipality near the Russian border. The wilderness area is located between the roads leading from Ivalo to Nellim and Raja-Joosepp and the Russian border.
Why you should visit it
The heart of the wilderness is formed by the Tsarmitunturi Plateau and the Akalauttapää, separated by a deep Pahakuru Gorge. There are no hiking facilities in the area, but the experienced hiker can easily enjoy many days in the area, thanks to the magnificent scenery. The beautiful scenery, that contains all the natural features of Lapland.
