Vätsäri includes the eastern part of Lake Inari with its rugged shores and countless islands, and a vast forest area interrupted by watercourses between the Norwegian and Russian borders. The Vätsäri Wilderness Area is part of the Finnish-Norwegian-Russian protected area. Pasvik-Inari Trilateral Park (www.pasvik-inari.net).
Vätsäri's remote location south of the Sevettijärv Skolt Village, behind the Great Inari, across the Norwegian and Russian borders and behind unknown roads, ensures that wilderness peace will never be disturbed, at least by mass tourism.
