The Arktis sails out into the frozen Bay of Bothnia and cracks through thick sea ice, a working icebreaker experience few harbours anywhere can offer.
Around six hours in total, including a three-hour cruise plus ice floating in a survival suit. Winter only, while the Bothnian Bay is frozen over.
Local tip: Hotel and railway station pickups run from central Kemi. Wear thermal layers under the suit and book well ahead in December.
