Finland's northernmost zoo keeps polar bears, wolverines, lynx and brown bears in large forest enclosures, along a boardwalk route through real taiga.
A self-guided walk of roughly 1.5 to 2 hours around the full route. Open every day of the year, with very different summer and winter atmospheres.
Local tip: Around a two-hour drive north-east of Kemi, so allow a full day. Wear sturdy footwear, as the route is long and outdoors.
