Ylläs Bike Park is Finland's largest bike park, built around the same gondola that carries hikers up Ylläs fell in summer. Downhill trails drop from open, treeless fell terrain into forest below, with routes up to four kilometres long for every skill level.
A training track by the carpet lift suits beginners and children, and a smooth 150-metre pump track is there to warm up on before the longer descents.
Local tip: The gondola runs both ways, so even non-bikers can ride up for the view and a bite at the summit restaurant, YlläsKammi, then head back down without touching a bike.
