The Konstanz Munster, or cathedral, is the towering landmark of the old town, a Romanesque and Gothic church whose origins go back over a thousand years and which hosted sessions of the great Council of Constance in the 15th century. Its lofty tower, reached by a climb, offers panoramic views over the city and Lake Constance. Free to enter, the Munster is the spiritual and architectural heart of the city and its most important historic monument.
