The Motsameta monastery was built in 11th century by the king of united Georgia Bagrat III. Name "motsameta" means place of tortured brothers (there is story about it). It is a small and quiet saint place with astonishing views.

Motsameta is a small 11th century monastery near Kutaisi. There is a 500 meters long walking track from the road to monastery. View and nature is really astonishing around. This little monastery has a spectacular setting on a cliff-top promontory above a bend of the Tskhaltsitela River.
Women should wear long dress and headdress. Man should wear long trousers.
