Why locals love it
It’s a museum with a mission to safeguard and divulge film heritage, founded in the early 50’s, by a pioneer of European film archives, Manoel Ribeiro. There is a bookshop and a restaurant which for now is temporarily closed.

Why you should visit it
Several collections can be seen like: sound, lighting, video, decorative objects and a collection of pre-cinema devices. Also there are film cycles, permanent and temporary exhibitions, film festivals like Indie Festival (International Festival of Independent Cinema).
Special tip
Check Cupids’ Room, it has an exhibition of Magic Lanterns, apparatus for projecting images onto glass painted in translucent colors.
