Why it matters: Amsterdam Underground is an initiative of the De Regenboog Groep, a charity supporting people facing homelessness, addiction and debt, and its guides have often lived on the streets themselves. Run as a cooperative, the guides are owners who earn from their work while sharing first-hand stories that build understanding and chip away at stigma. Tours run several days a week from the city centre for around EUR15; bring a little cash as food and drinks aren’t included.
