de Young Museum

de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco

Golden Gate Park

The de Young holds American, Oceanic, and African art collections along with strong touring exhibitions, all in a striking copper-clad building in the park. A local secret: the Hamon Tower observation floor is free to enter and gives you a sweeping, uncrowded view over Golden Gate Park and the city. The permanent collection is free daily from 4:30pm, and admission is free to everyone on the first Saturday of each month.
