Why it matters: since 2014 this Fondation de Nice program has brought more than sixty people a year back into work, collecting, repairing and reselling the city’s donated furniture and objects. The centre-ville boutique is a proper treasure hunt – restored furniture, vintage dishware and one-off upcycled pieces from the workshop, at flea-market prices. Every purchase funds the work-reintegration program, and you can drop off donations too. It’s a block off avenue Jean Médecin – take tram 1 to the Jean Médecin stop.
