Gallery interior at the Rubell Museum in Miami

Allapattah

Built from the Rubell family’s decades-long contemporary art collection, this Allapattah museum spreads big, bold works across a converted industrial complex, with a strong emphasis on emerging and boundary-pushing artists. It’s less crowded than the downtown museums and rewards a slow, unhurried walk-through. There’s a garden and a well-regarded restaurant on site if you want to make an afternoon of it. It’s a short ride from Wynwood, so the two pair well.
