Why it matters: The RomeHello is a social enterprise that ploughs all of its profits back into community and environmental projects and hires people with intellectual disabilities through the European Valueable network. It’s a genuinely comfortable, design-led hostel a few minutes’ walk from Termini station, with a rooftop bar that’s open to non-guests too. Book a private room if you want quiet; the dorms are sociable and among the better-value budget beds in the centre.
