Sidreria El Tigre

Sidreria El Tigre is a tapas bar in the Chueca district of Madrid, known for serving a substantial free tapa with every drink ordered, with the selection changing on each round rather than repeating. Dishes commonly served alongside beer, wine or vermouth include patatas bravas, jamon, croquetas, chicken wings, chorizo and tortilla espanola. The original branch trades at Calle de las Infantas 30, with two further branches nearby at Infantas 23 and Hortaleza 23, all a few minutes on foot from Plaza de Pedro Zerolo. Prices are low for central Madrid, with drinks at around seven euros including the accompanying food, which is why the bars are heavily used by students and by anyone eating cheaply. They open daily from midday, closing at 12.30am from Sunday to Thursday and at 2am on Friday and Saturday. All three remain in operation. The nearest metro station is Chueca on Line 5, with Gran Via on Lines 1 and 5 also serving the area. Rooms fill in the evening and standing at the bar is the norm rather than table service.
