The MuCEM, the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations, is Marseille’s landmark cultural institution, a striking contemporary building wrapped in a filigree concrete lattice at the entrance to the old port. Linked by a footbridge to the historic Fort Saint-Jean, its ticketed exhibitions explore the history, art and cultures of the Mediterranean world in thought-provoking displays.
