As multicultural as Melbourne is, it’s only recently that quality Mexican food has been popping up in the city. The place that started the trend is Mamasita. To find it, you must go through a hidden doorway and upstairs on Collins Street, in the ‘Paris’ end of town. They also have around 100 choices of tequila!

Why you should visit it
Mamasita may not be as cheap as Taco Bell, but my goodness is it tastier! It brings all the Mexican staples – tacos, tostadas, quesadillas and ceviche, but without the fake heavy feel that a lot of Mexican in Melbourne can have. You must, must, must try the Esquites de maíz; who ever knew corn could taste this good!
Special tip
The food is designed for sharing, so you can spend as much or as little as you want. The place has no bookings policy, so arrive early to avoid lines.
