The St Kilda Road gallery has free general entry, a water wall at the door and the stained-glass ceiling of the Great Hall inside.
Open daily 10am to 5pm; work through the permanent collection, then lie on the Great Hall floor and look up at the ceiling.
Local tip: General entry costs nothing but ticketed special exhibitions do — book those ahead, particularly over summer.
