At dusk hundreds of little penguins come ashore and waddle up the beach to their burrows, and a guide gets you there without the driving.
A small-group minibus stops at the Brighton bathing boxes, Moonlit Sanctuary for koalas and kangaroos and The Nobbies before the sunset penguin viewing.
Local tip: Dress far warmer than the city forecast suggests, as the viewing stands catch the wind straight off Bass Strait.
