Glasmagasinet

Facing the flower stalls of Stortorvet beside the cathedral, Glasmagasinet is a grand old Oslo institution best known for glass, porcelain, kitchenware and Nordic design for the home. The handsome early twentieth-century building is a landmark in its own right, and the upper floors are a fine place to hunt for a distinctly Norwegian gift or a piece of Scandinavian tableware. Time a visit around the Christmas season, when the store and the square around it are at their most festive.
