Palma’s breathtaking Gothic cathedral, rising straight above the old sea wall so it seems to float over the water. Begun in the 13th century and built in golden sandstone, “La Seu” boasts one of the world’s largest rose windows and a soaring, luminous nave dramatically reworked by Antoni Gaudí — and later by artist Miquel Barceló, whose extraordinary ceramic chapel is a must-see. The single most iconic sight in the city.
