Just steps away from the hustle and bustle of center city lies the Reading viaduct, an abandoned railway that is easily accessible from 13th and Noble Street. Follow the ramp up to the overgrown railway that's saturated with graffiti. It's a cool spot with a great view of the city and the neighborhood below.

Why you should visit it
Take in the sights of nature reclaiming this man-made space, and be part of Philadelphia's recent history. Be warned, trespassing the viaduct is not technically legal, but it's a frequented spot among locals, so much so that it's not heavily policed or monitored though that might change with new developments.
Special tip
There are usually holes in the fences leading to the railway. If not, the fences are fairly easy to jump over.
