Playa Flamingo's namesake beach is a broad curve of pale sand backed by low headlands, with calm, gently sloping water that makes it one of the more swimmable beaches on this stretch of Guanacaste coast.
It costs nothing to enjoy: walk it end to end, watch the sunset over the bay, or just settle in for the afternoon. It is the free anchor that most of the town's restaurants and hotels are built around.
