Ten minutes from the city, the Cijevna river tumbles over a wide ledge to form the “Niagara of Montenegro” — thundering in spring, a string of swimmable pools in high summer. Right beside it, Restoran Niagara makes the most of the setting: a big terrace over the falls serving organic local cooking, fresh trout and freshwater fish, and ispod sača (meat slow-roasted under an iron bell). Come after rain for the full drama of the water, and stay for lunch by the cascade.
While you’re near the capital, pair it with a Skadar Lake boat tour from Podgorica.
