Special for its history, the location, the air. The most significant monument on the Skadar lake. Medieval fortification overlooking the lake, four rivers, arable land. At XV c. the fortress was a burgh with 300 houses, at delta of river Morača into the Skadar lake, as an important economic and merchant center.

In 1479. the fortress fell under the Turkish rule. And it will remain so for almost four centuries. In the city the Turks had built a barrack and converted the St.George's church into a mosque, on which spot, later on, rose a school. There were only one big heavy door leading to an old town. Today, fortress has banks 15 m tall & 2m wide &6 towers.
At the basis of the fortress there are remainings of an old ottoman bridge...
