The museum is based on the life work of Baron Emil Herman Robert Cedercreutz (1879-1949). Known as a sculptor, silhouette artist, author and collector of the ethnographic collection, Cedercreutz built his artist home in Harjula, Harjavalta, on the shores of Kilukanlahti in 1914.
Today, the surroundings of the Harjula Artist's Home with its buildings and exhibitions offer the visitor a diverse museum complex, a combination of art and Satakunta's cultural history. In addition to permanent exhibitions, the Emil Cedercreutz Museum also organizes changing exhibitions and events.
