Addo is South Africa's third-largest national park and an Eastern Cape Big Five reserve, best known for its large free-roaming elephant population.

Local tip: Enter at Mathyolweni Gate, about 40 minutes from the city, and carry water and binoculars — there are no shops on the loops.
