The Sundays River mouth is backed by a vast coastal dunefield, and riding a board down it takes no previous experience whatsoever.
Sign in at the meeting point, cross the river on a short boat trip, then climb and slide the dunes with a guide; two or three-hour options.
Local tip: Wear sunglasses and clothes you do not mind filling with sand; Colchester is about 40 minutes from the centre.
