The cobbled square considered the birthplace of French America, anchored by the little stone church of Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, one of the oldest stone churches on the continent. This is where the city began in 1608.
The surrounding quarter is dense with 17th and 18th century houses, and the giant trompe-l'oeil Fresque des Québécois mural is a couple of minutes away.
