Why locals love it
Arpoador is a small peninsula located between Copacabana and Ipanema. On its right side there is the Arpoador stone that separates Arpoador from Ipanema beach. It's one of our favorite beach points! And it is possible to go to the beach after 8pm because there's a special lightning.

Why you should visit it
Check the breaking waves on the left side and on Ipanema's side, you'll have a breathtaking view on the sunset. It's considered special as during the midsummer you are able to enjoy the sun setting over the sea (a rare event in the Brazilian coast) right next to the Two Brothers hill.
Special tip
Packed on weekends, especially on Sundays. Try to go during the week.
