Feira do Lavradio
Why locals love it
It's like a tradition. Every first saturday of each month cariocas go to feira do lavradio to buy some stuff as cool clothes, antique articles (from furniture to clothes), craftwork, vinyl records, hand-made bags and shoes, and a lot of another different and alternative things. Normally there is a live roda de samba in afternoon.

Why you should visit it
Officially called Feira do Rio Antigo, or "Old Rio Fair", this fair is a good choice to spend the day and have a great walk in downtown and lapa. It's a great open-air market with a lot of interesting things to see! It's the meeting point of alternative people in Rio, so there is always something cool and new going on.
