German Soldier's Cemetery

Why locals love it

Built in 1963 the Mausoleum is a really big memorial for the German Soldier's who fought in Lapland's during the 2. WW (1942-1944). The place is really palace like building, which rests peacefully on the shore side of the Norvajärvi. Inside the mausoleum there's a statue "Mother and the Son" by Ursula Querner.

Lovely hike for the evening in Fall, the parking is located about 0,5 kilometers from the Mausoleum. Trail is marked and the real cemetery area is surrounded by the wall, you enter the area from the gate. The area is covered by the old pines and spruces, the surrounding nature is really ordinary to the Finland's forests.
